Our best advice: do not measure yourself. Take a garment you already own and love the fit of, lay it flat, and measure that. Compare those numbers to the tables below.
| Size | Bust (in) | Waist (in) | Hip (in) |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 32 | 26 | 35 |
| S | 34 | 28 | 37 |
| M | 36 | 30 | 39 |
| L | 38 | 32 | 41 |
| XL | 40 | 34 | 43 |
| XXL | 42 | 36 | 45 |
Ethnic pieces are cut closer through the bust and upper arm. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one. Anarkalis and lehengas are usually supplied with extra seam allowance so a local tailor can take them in.
Sarees are one size. The measurement that matters is the blouse piece, which is supplied unstitched unless the product page says otherwise. Standard blouse pieces are cut to fit up to a 40 inch bust once stitched.

Every measurement above has a tolerance of about half an inch, because these are handled and finished by people rather than machines.
